As a Senior Frontend Engineer you build a Digital Channel at Transaction Monitoring Netherlands (TMNL) that offers a controlled web environment to financial institutions, multiple Dutch banks, for the faster, more accurate and world first collaborative fight against financial crime.

We are seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer with a strong passion for web development to join our team. In this role, you will focus on frontend technologies, while knowledge of backend and infrastructure is a valuable bonus. Our Digital Channel team aims to give users, external bank employees, a unique interactive experience by providing valuable information and awesome visualisation about the anti-money laundering alerts generated by TMNL's core systems, using advanced analytics. This initiative makes our digital channel unique as it is a tool used by multiple banks to collaborate.
We aim to develop the channel into a one-stop-shop for all information related to alert handling and collaboration. As this channel acts as a junction between TMNL and banks, it has the potential to develop into a product that in the future might support machine-to-machine (API) interfaces in addition to user (graphical) interfaces. Your Responsibilities:

• Take part in evolving the digital channel architecture and deliver innovative frontend solutions
• Stay up to date on the latest frontend technologies and trends
• Share ideas and collaborate with the team to create innovative solutions
• Actively push the boundaries of new possibilities and learn new technologies
• Expand your backend, infrastructure and architecture skills

Required skills:

• 5+ years of experience with JavaScript and TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular
• Proficient in responsive web design using TailwindCSS, or similar CSS frameworks
• Experience with frontend testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Testing Library) and end-to-end testing using Cypress or Playwright
• Experience with monorepo tooling such as Nx, Turbo Repo, or similar frameworks
• Strong problem-solving skills within a collaborative environment
• Experience designing secure, scalable, and resilient systems
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
• Strong communication skills (verbal and writing) in English
• Getting things done attitude
• You live in the Netherlands

Bonus skills:

• Knowledge of backend technologies, with a preference for Java and the Spring Boot Framework or NestJS, but experience with other backend languages is also valuable
• Experience with any public cloud (preferably AWS) and Infrastructure as Code (terraform)
• Understanding of modern data engineering, concepts, tools, and techniques
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and DevOps principles
