Each year, an estimated €16 billion of criminal money flows through Dutch society. This staggering amount is generated by criminal organizations through fraud, drug trafficking and human trafficking, with a huge impact on human lives.
At TMNL, we fight this financial crime. We are able to discover unique patterns and detect unusual financial transactions by combining data streams, state-of-the-art technology, and enlisting the skills and expertise of curious minds in the field.
As the gatekeepers to our financial system, banks have the responsibility to protect our society by preventing criminal organizations from pumping their illegal money into legitimate businesses.
But in today’s globalized world, it has become increasingly challenging to fulfill this responsibility. Criminals launder their dirty money using a wide variety of complex tactics, aware that as long as each bank can only see one part of the puzzle, they are difficult to detect and catch.
